|Liquor Store Real Estate Owners Association|
Like you, we own real estate leased for a Wine and Spirit Store operated by the PA Liquor Control Board. As you know, the Governor proposes to privatize state stores. ON MARCH 21, 2013, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES APPROVED HOUSE BILL 470 TO CLOSE STATE STORES AND CREATE A SYSTEM OF WHOLESALE AND RETAIL LICENSES. THE SENATE APPROVED SENATE BILL 800 TO "MODERNIZE" LICENSING AND REGULATION OF BEER DISTRIBUTION AND STATE STORES. SOME STATE STORES COULD BE CLOSED. ALL OF OUR LEASES ARE AT RISK. SOME LEASES MAY BE TERMINATED WITHOUT PAYMENT AS A RESULT OF THE LEGISLATION. PLEASE READ THE TERMINATION CLAUSE OF YOUR LEASE. You can read the House and Senate legislation linked to the information section of this website.
We must continue our lobbying efforts with the Legislature and the Governor. We have formed an Association of Liquor Store Real Estate Owners.
Please join our association. Our combined efforts will make a difference. Think about what it's worth to you to preserve the valuable Fine Wine and Spirits business that is now at your location. We request an initial contribution of $100 for membership into the association. It is imperative that we act now in order to have our voices heard in Harrisburg.
